Creative Critical Reflection for Our Music Video

Image
We decided to go with the park as our location because our storyline doesn’t really need a specific location. It relates to people who live their everyday lives and the park is a common location many people tend to go to, therefore we chose this location. Also, we believed that choosing the park would give us different locations within the area to shoot at such as the bathroom, path, bench, etc. All locations for our product was taken during the daytime. We created our storyboard to match the song’s meaning which was about suicide prevention. We wanted to highlight the issues many people face in their lives and then send a message letting these people know they aren’t the only one and it will get better soon. We want our audience to not just watch the video to watch it, but to understand the fact that their are people out there like this.  Our product would be seen on social platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. These are platforms in which many people use, ...

Logic Music Video ( School Project)

Finally our music video is done! After all the planning, filming and editing we're finally finished with our 1-800-273-8255 music video. It was such a fun learning experience doing this project. The effort and dilligence my team put in has been outstanding. I really appreciate them and I couldn't have done this entire project without them. There is a lot we can take from working on this project.  We adapted to each others way of doing things and even managed to learn new things from each other such as tricks in acting, filming, and editing. Also, we believe that when it comes to teamwork, we have improved and are able to harmonize our skills to reach a goal. The whole goal was to make sure that our message was received and that people realize that bullying is a major cause in suicide. People go through things at home and hide the pain away with a smile and no one ever knows until it’s too late. My team and I have brought more awareness to these traumatic issues and have given...

Editing for Our Music Video

Image
When it came to editing for this project, Rohanna took the responsibility for the task. Due to Ciaya and I acting while Idline recorded, Rohanna was left with no task. Luckily, she knows a thing or two when it comes to editing, so we gave her the task to edit the project. She is a really good editor and the group believed editing the project would be the best fit for her. During filming, we recorded different takes and shots. It made Rohanna’s job easier because she now has different options to choose from to make the scenes come together. Although she had different options, a challenge she had to face was making sure she didn’t exceed the time limit which was 60 seconds. After she put everything together, the music video came out to be over 2 minutes long! She had to trim every scene and make big cuts to meet the 60 second criteria. Other than this, editing went smoothly for her. She applied a filter to one of the scenes to set the mood for that one take. I believe we chose the ...

Filming for Our Music Video (Part 2)

Image
Although there were some downsides and challenges when it came to filming, there are still some positive aspects to look at from filming. First off, all group members managed to show up. In the previous blog, I said we had to switch our location At first, we found that it may be an issue that could mess everything up, however it didn't take long to replace the scenes. For example, we used the river as an alternate for the bridge. That worked out perfectly. Also, we used a camera instead of a phone camera to record the shots. It allowed the whole film to look more like a music video and made the zoomed in parts much better due to the lens. When we all first arrived it looked like it was going to rain and there was a slight drizzle. I would say the fact that it ended up now raining hard is a pro in this project. It would've been difficult to find another day where we could all come and film. I am very glad that we managed to film for one day and everything ended up working out f...
